You may ask! How many types and styles of tile and stone are there?

Tile has a reputation for function and efficiency. There are many different types of tile and stone available, each with its own unique properties and characteristics. You must consider the application under which your choice of tile can be used in order to buy the appropreate tile. Here are some of the most common types:

Ceramic tile - This type of tile is made from clay that has been fired at high temperatures. It is available in many different colors, shapes, and sizes.

Porcelain tile - Porcelain tile is similar to ceramic tile, but it is made from and consists of a spray dried body of selected finer clays, kaolinitic minerals, quartz and feldspar, shaped by dry pressing to form a ceramic material that is then fired at much higher temperatures up to 1250oC. It is more durable and water-resistant than ceramic tile. Resistant to wear, deep abrasion, chemical attack and frost. A non-absorbent material with great fluxural strength.

Natural stone tile - This type of tile is made from natural materials like marble, granite, travertine, slate, and limestone. Each type of stone has its own unique color and pattern.

Mosaic tile - Mosaic tiles are small tiles that are usually no larger than 2 inches in size. They can be made from a variety of materials, including glass, stone, and ceramic. Can be used to make murals and to conform to odd shapes.

Glass tile - Glass tiles are translucent and come in many different colors and textures. They are often used for backsplashes and decorative accents.

Metal tile - Metal tiles are made from materials like stainless steel, copper, and aluminum. They are often used for modern or industrial designs.

Quarry tile - Quarry tiles are unglazed tiles made from clay and are usually used for floors, countertops, or walls, used indoor/outdoors because of their thickness. They are durable and often used in high-traffic areas.

Pabba tile - Pabba tiles are made from clay, shale, or porcelain, and areone-half inch thick and usually used on floors. Pabba tiles absorb waterand are not used for wet interior areas, outside areas, or areas thatwill freeze.

Glazed tile- Glazed tile is white gypsum or terricata colored tile with a colored glaze used on walls, floors, countertops, etc. Comes in several grades.

There are many other types of tile and stone available, each with their own unique properties and characteristics. The choice of which type to use will depend on the specific needs of your project.
